When a candidate signs up with the National NVQ Centre, LLCI Ltd, they receive an induction visit lasting four hours. This induction visit ensures the candidate and their manager are fully briefed on the NVQ process and that the candidate has selected the appropriate level NVQ and relevant optional units. Each candidate is issued with their NVQ workbook and allocated two advisers/assessors, one for the specialist Local Land Charges and Property Information units and one for the other units (business and administration, customer service, and/or management).
The candidate then works on the development of their knowledge and skills and collection of evidence of their competence in their workplace over a period of about 12-18 months. During this time they are required to submit monthly reports of progress and they receive support from their advisers/assessors by telephone and e-mail.
When they have gathered together evidence to show they are competent in all the units of their NVQ, they are assessed as competent or given advice as to the areas where they still need to develop, or where they need to provide more robust evidence.
LLCI Ltd require that each NVQ candidate completes their award within 18 months of their induction; an additional fee is payable if further time is required. On successful completion of the assessment and internal verification for quality assurance purposes, the candidate receives their NVQ certificate from the Awarding Body, City and Guilds. |
